Rep. Brandon Jones said he does not plan to give up on public service after losing his District 111 seat to Republican challenger Charles Busby in November.
“I continue to be very interested in the direction of Mississippi,” Jones said. “While I’m grateful for the chance I had to serve about helping out in new ways. Losing an election is no excuse to quit helping. We’ve got real challenges in our state and some of the people who are doing the most to address these challenges are not in elected office.”
Jones said if the opportunity presents itself, he would be open to running for office again. While acknowledging that Democrats “did a poor job of laying out a compelling vision for the state of Mississippi” in the recent election, he does not plan to switch parties.
