May 2, 2013: Rep. Cecil Brown discusses the push to do away with inspection stickers.

Rep. Cecil Brown joined Managing Editor Keith Plunkett to discuss Brown’s bill HB 499. The bill would have done away with the state requirement for inspection stickers on motor vehicles. However, following passage in the State House by a 112 to 5 vote, the bill never made it out of committee in the State Senate.

Brown discusses his plans for moving the legislation to passage in the 2014 session.

Treasurer Fitch on Financial Literacy, MPACT and a State Debt Affordability Plan.

She discussed ongoing efforts to get a Financial Literacy course requirement for High School Seniors out of the Legislature and to the Governor’s desk. We discussed the outlook of the MPACT Pre-Paid College Savings Program following an audit and some bleak numbers.  Mrs. Fitch also tells of a first ever state debt affordability plan she is developing to properly manage state debt.
