A Mississippi doctor convicted of orchestrating a $6.9-million Medicaid and Medicare fraud scheme will have her appeal heard in July by federal judges in New Orleans.
Oral arguments in the appeal by Dr. Cassandra Faye Thomas will be heard July 10 by a three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Thomas was convicted on 10 counts by a federal jury in Jackson in 2011. She was sentenced to 14 years in prison. She filed an appeal with the 5th Circuit.
