Ocean Springs businessman Scott Walker reported to a minimum-security federal prison in Pensacola on Monday to begin serving his 18-month sentence for corruption involving the Department of Marine Resources, according to the federal Bureau of Prisons.

“Mr. Walker starts his prison sentence to pay part of his debt to society and looks forward to being home in the future to be with his family and continue to be a good father to his two boys,” Walker’s attorney, Corban Gunn, said Tuesday.

According to the federal BOP, Walker’s scheduled release date is March 21, 2016.
