South Panola Supt. Wilder says district will continue to defy state law, not fly state flag. 


  

Mississippi State flag is not being displayed at many schools in South Panola School District.

Tim Wilder, the district’s superintendent, said they will continue to not fly the flag.

The Mississippi state flag has caused a lot of national attention because part of the flag displays the confederate emblem.

In October, Ole Miss decided to take down the state flag.

Representatives with South Panola County district said the Mississippi flag has not been displayed at many local schools in some time. But of course it not being on display has many people talking.

“I think we should put the Mississippi state flag up no matter what’s on it,” parent Felicity Gordon said.
